What’s actually next to the block you’re considering? Zoning tells you whether the next 5 acres can become a strip mall. Flood-control basins tell you where the water goes in a hundred-year storm. School-district lines decide which middle school your kids walk to. Toggle the layers you care about, Henderson to Boulder City.

Explore the physical context of your neighborhood.
Toggle four layers: zoning, school districts, flood channels, retention basins. The coverage runs from Las Vegas and North Las Vegas through Henderson, Spring Valley, Summerlin, Paradise, and Enterprise, out to Boulder City. The physical layer of a neighborhood matters. What sits next door. What flood path the lot touches. Which school the district lines feed. That context belongs in the decision.
The map opens here — zoning, school districts, flood-control channels, and retention basins, toggleable layer by layer. While the interactive view comes online, the same open data is published by Clark County at opendata.clarkcountynv.gov.

What does each layer tell you?
Zoning
Whether the empty 5 acres behind the lot stays desert, becomes single-family homes, or becomes a warehouse. Clark County assigns every parcel a zoning district. The gray outlines show where each one starts and ends.
Schools
The Clark County School District is the fifth-largest in the country — around 300,000 students in one district. The district is one; the attendance zones are not. Two blocks apart can mean two different schools. The green dots mark school sites.
Flood channels
Las Vegas gets about four inches of rain a year — and a summer monsoon can drop an inch in one afternoon. The Regional Flood Control District moves that water through roughly 700 miles of channels. The blue lines show where it runs.
Retention basins
More than 100 detention basins hold storm water before it reaches the channels. A basin next door means open space most of the year — and a working flood control structure when it counts. The shaded blue areas mark them.
